Last weeks news of Ryan Adams (fantastic) bit of hip-hop, “Look Who Got A Website” – was most definitely not a surprise to the legions of his fans who scour the back alleys and dark corners of the Internet for scraps of his unreleased music (note: there is a lot of it). No, those folks would have been long aware of other instances of Adams blowing off steam in the studio with similar results. You’ll notice his skillz on rockin’ the mic are vastly improved in 2006.

Below: Adams’ rap “Busted” (cover of Eric B. & Rakim), dates back to a ’90s Whiskeytown studio session, while the one minute and seven second drunken spoof of the Red Hot Chili Peppers “Around The World” comes from a session he did with his old band, The Pinkhearts, in Nashville. Damn it, Ryan, don’t ever change.

Someone emailed me looking for the World Cafe’ version of Whiskeytown’s cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” I couldn’t find it at the time, but I since have — but I lost yer email, man. So here it is if you are reading…it’s a good’un too.
