Swamp Dogg ft. John Prine :: Please Let Me Go Round Again

Recorded at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studio in January 2019, Swamp Dogg aka Jerry Williams enlisted an old friend to come sing on Sorry You Couldn’t Make It. An old friend that lent him “Sam Stone in 1972. An old friend that gave his heart and soul to the record, telling jokes and starting off this track in true storyteller fashion. Swampy drum machine grooves and Muscle Shoals by way of Nashville guitar riffs lay the foundation for these two friends to expound on their lives. The whole record documents Swamp Dogg’s life over the years, using songs he penned some 30 plus years ago. Bon Iver and Sam Amidon contributed their instrumental prowess as well, but it’s the last track with John Prine that brings the magic. You’re witnessing a true southern porch hang.
