Dig “Before Brazil,” off the vocal artist, poet, and composer’s self-released 1988 album The Channeled Voice - with just her vocal, albeit heavily modulated, and a drum machine, she conjures a hazy club outing that blends dance music, exotica, and new age in a deeply intoxicating and idiosyncratic fashion . . .
