The songs are loose-jointed and exploratory, built on repetitive motifs but more than willing to jettison them. A bass-line snakes around glittering piano runs, the guitar picks out blues-shaded licks and eerie vibrations of slide, and above it all, a woman’s voice winds. “So be it, follow the river,” intones Elena Setién, the Basque singer-songwriter. The music echoes this liquid aura, full of eddies and cascades, but moving forthrightly towards its goals.
