Recorded in 1969 at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL, Pickett was aided by (a then unknown session player) Duane Allman. Allman’s nasty guitar at the end of the track was a sign of great things to come. I’m not posting the Beatles original, but I assume most have it committed to memory anyhow.
MP3: Wilson Pickett – Hey Jude (beatles cover)

  1. I have visited your site quite a few times and link to it in my first blog entry as you dealt with the Foamfoot show.

I compiled a few more covers of Hey Jude, including Wilson Pickett’s version, on my blog. I was blown away by Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival’s take on this classic and highly encourage listening to it.
