Perception’s a funny thing. The first time I heard this album I was a little put off…not sure why really, I think I was listening to some sort of post-post-rock nonsense just prior, and the two juxtaposed were just too contrary for my ears to handle. Anyway, my loss! As it’s pretty damn cool, and I am into it more with every listen. Check these NC brothers out — all gruff vocals, banjos, acoustic guitars and the like. Some of the album reminds me a bit of their NYC neighbors to the North, O’death.

  1. I bought the Avett Brothers new album “emotionalism” a couple of weeks back and I can’t get the damn thing out of my cd player. I didn’t remeber seeing a post about it, but if you haven’t already I suggest you check it out. Here is a youtube link from the Conan O’Brien show. Paranoia in B-Flat Major

I’ve been checking your site for a couple of years now, and I just want to say I appreciate the job you do. Let me know what you think of the song.
