Drunkard pal Ross Flournoy, from The Broken West, stopped by and guest DJ’d with me this past Wednesday at Little Radio. The band is in the middle of a three week break here in Los Angeles before heading back out on the road — possibly coming to a town near you. Tune in to the show next Wednesday as Ross comes back in to guest DJ.

Aquarium Drunkard Podcast: Archives Here
Dude this is one swell posting. Had to download this podcast. Dwight Yoakam + GBV?!? Playlist…complete! Gridley, you may fire when ready.
And for the bloody record, Link Wray is the shit – anyone who is just now figuring this out should be beaten about the head, breast, neck, chest and clavicle.

I’ve enjoyed this 2-hour podcast overall. It really like the idea of interviewing. I do wish you played the ‘one song that would best summarize the band (broken west in this case)’ before continuing with his dj’ing. In this case, the listener can see where his music choice is coming from, what’s influencing their sound, etc. We want to connect the dots and see how it all points to that band’s original song.
Maybe I should have researched the Broken West’s sound before listening to this podcast?
That’s a good point Kirk, and something I meant to do.
Ross is a friend, and has been on the show in the past, w/ his band, so this turned into more of us just hanging out than a formal interview type thing.
His band though, Broken West, are great and worth checking out.
