Nick Drake :: The Family Tree Collection

nick-drake.jpg

Pre-dating Drakes debut, Five Leaves Left, this new posthumous collection, entitled Family Tree, gathers up laid back recordings culled from both Drake originals as well as covers. A few of these (from what I have witnessed personally) have been around previously via unsanctioned bootlegs and file sharing networks. Thankfully the sound here has been doctored and cleaned up considerably.

Look for Family Tree to hit retail shelves in a couple of weeks, and in the meantime download three of the collections tracks below. Also: The excellent Nick Drake documentary A Skin Too Few is available below in three segments.

  1. Hey mate, thanks for putting this up. I always appreciate what you put up, regardless of whether I like it or not. I’m a big fan of this blog, so thank you.

I just wondered if you knew what the name of the song is — playing in the background during the “Nick’s Bedroom” bit, I think it is. About 6 minutes into the first part.

    Thanks,

    Adam

  2. Good sir,

I’m a huge fan of the blog, and very, very excited to hear Nick Drake doing Jackson C. Frank’s “Blues Run the Game.”

As always, a high quality post. Thanks.

    Jason

  3. Hey, thanks so very much for this. I hadn’t seen the doc yet and I’m glad it’s there. Take care and thanks again.
