cat power

If Chan Marshall’s Myspace blog is any indication, we can expect a new Cat Power record this January via the Matador label. Reprising her love of cover tunes, the set will be a continuation of 2000s The Covers Record that collected twelve tracks (Stones, Velvet Underground, etc) that had undergone the Marshall treatment. The Marshall Treatment…that sounds like a good band name. Any takers?

  1. I’ve always been partial to the Marshall Planners for a band name.

  2. these are great! thanks for another great post…i love Cat Power…but I must say nothing beats Uncle Tupelo’s Moonshiner….still very nice

  3. i can’t wait! i think “Uncle Tupelo’s Moonshiner” will also be on the soundtrack to Todd Haynes new film?

  4. this is such great news… I love her Covers album, I really think it is her best album and I listened to it obsessively for months. I can’t wait for a “volume II”!
