  1. What a fantastic wrap-up to my favorite TV program ever. The best moment for me was the emergence of the “new” Omar, and of course, Bubbles at dinner. And McNulty’s wake. And everything else. Now I have to go back and watch all five seasons again…

Please post Steve Earle’s version of “Way Down in the Hole.” It wasn’t on either of the Wire compilation CDs and I don’t know where to find it.

  2. i watched all 5 seasons in the timespan of the last 6 months or so. last night’s episode was the first i watched the day it aired.

i’m going to miss the world of ‘the wire.’ what an incredible show. as a writer, i can only hope to be a part of something so brilliant at some point in my career.

how fitting that they utilized ‘down in the hole’ to wrap up the series in the final montage. absolutely staggering in its tragedy yet ultimately so very beautiful, ‘the wire’ is a work of art that i will come back to, now and then, for the rest of my life.

  3. @Chris Manson – it’s on Earle’s newest CD, Washington Square Serenade.

Anyone know about the seasons 3 and 4 versions? Respectively, The Neville Brothers and DoMaJe?

  4. best show ever. watched it as it aired from Season 1, loved watching it grow and change perspective, and just get better and better. left while on top with a great finale (unlike The Sopranos). sheeeeeeeeee-iiitt.

  5. I greatly enjoyed watching the season finale but i missed out on season 4 as well,i was away in rehab and you know how it is you cant be let to watch programs with alcoholic content.
