Dillard & Clark :: Don’t Let Me Down

Here we have the short-lived, yet excellent, Dillard & Clark covering the Beatles “Don’t Let Me Down.” I originally had planned to run this the same week in December that I shared Charlotte Dada’s Ghanese cover of the track as a bit of a compare and contrast, but (obviously) forgot. The holidays came and went and I just now found it sitting in my drafts queue. Anyhow, if this is new to you, you’re in for a treat. In terms of the album, it is the last track on the pair’s second, and final, LP Through the Morning, Through the Night.

  1. Thanks so much– That’s a great version, and new to me. Was just reading one of the Byrds bios last night, so GC was on my mind. Really hits the spot.

  2. the true highlight of this LP is “Polly,” which i hope everyone who is reading this article will hear eventually.

  3. Dillard and Clark is a duet that I hadn’t heard until one day in 2010, stumbled upon this song on a Beatles playlist on Youtube. Great harmony and musicianship and more than anything, for me, was the spirit on it. Making it a greater song. Hunted and hunted but couldn’t find it until 2nite. Thanks much!
