Sometime in the early-00s, back when I cared
more about getting my license then keeping up with music blogs, I was offered a ticket to a Drive-By Truckers show in Cleveland by an older friend. With my light grasp of indie music, I misunderstood and though I was going to see My Morning Jacket until I walked into the ballroom, heard Patterson’s voice and became a lifelong fan…forever.
Would love to see this show. Thanks for the op!
NYC, 2003 – Hell No I Aint Happy
Heard “Flying Wallendas” by the Drive By Truckers on KEXP (online) in 2010 and was hooked.
Have been a fan since the first time I heard the phrase “the duality of the Southern thing.”
