Delightful reminder of Fairport’s ability to interpret American roots-inclined music before they went full tilt for Brit folk rock.
Lovely version of the Byrds tune. It wasn’t, of course, on the original Liege & Lief (it wouldn’t have suited) – presumably it’s now a bonus track. I first heard this on Richard Thompson’s “Guitar And Vocal” compilation from many years back. Good to hear it again. Thanks.
