Fugazi :: Instrument (Documentary)

Last month, via our newsletter, we mentioned this performance of Fugazi captured twenty years ago at the now defunct Palace Theatre in Los Angeles. Two decades later and the footage has lost not an ounce of its potency.

Somewhere, likely in a cardboard box in my office closet, resides a DVD copy of Jem Cohen’s 1999 documentary on the band Instrument. As a glimpse inside the world of Fugazi, Cohen’s film is authoritative — an essential work that rewards repeat viewings. Except I haven’t owned a DVD player in years. But check it out: while the Weird Internet may be a thing of the past, sometimes this information superhighway is indeed your friend. Case in point: Cohen’s documentary is available to stream free and legal, below, via Snagfilms.
