Welcome to the seventh installment of Unearthed, a series of thematic mixes that travel deep into dusty vintage zones to dig up bootleg gold.
The confusingly named Ebbets Field music venue was some ways away from its Brooklyn namesake — in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado, to be exact. But if you were fortunate enough to catch a few shows at the tiny club back in the early to mid-1970s, it might have been as thrilling an experience as seeing the ’55 Dodgers win the World Series. Ebbets booked some truly stellar acts — and lucky for us, a host of shows were broadcast on local airwaves. For the latest Unearthed, we’ve gathered together a totally eclectic sampling of Mile High sounds, ranging from lowdown blues crawls to futuristic synth-pop, from blazing funk-rock to jangly Britfolk. Set your watch to Rocky Mountain Time. / t wilcox
