Go Hirano :: “日常” Nichijou (Everyday)

Meditate for awhile on this one — a 25-minute portrait of Go Hirano, filmed at the musician’s home in Kamakura, Japan earlier this year by Vincent Guilbert. Hirano’s hushed 2004 masterpiece Corridor of Daylights was just reissued by Black Editions and Guilbert’s camera captures the album’s captivating vibe: intimate, contemplative, simple, sublime. Hirano’s music is as elemental as a gentle breeze, as comforting as an embrace. Take a deep breath. words / t wilcox
