Welcome to the eleventh installment of First & Last, a series of mixes providing a glimpse into the world of Japanese private press, or 自主盤, pronounced “jishuban”, which loosely translates to “independent board.”
Mirroring the vibrant shift in seasons, allow the following mix to soundtrack the transition from summer’s warmth to autumn’s embrace. Highlights include a favorite from Abeichizoku (reissue dropping early November), alongside a Tetsumi Hibino gem from a compilation we recently gripped. Last, but not least, we hop across the pond to one of Kikuko Murakami’s two LA based bands, Silver Lake.
