Erin Rae returns to AD with her third Lagniappe Session, this time as a duo with Taylor Zachry. A callback of sorts to her initial session from 2019, this installment once again finds the Nashville based singer-songwriter paying tribute to the enduring work of the late Gene Clark, covering “Out On The Side” and “Polly” – both tunes via Clark’s own late sixties collaboration with banjo player Doug Dillard.

Following up the set she laid down in 2019, Erin Rae returns this month with her second Lagniappe Session. Comprised of live, single mic takes cut at a rehearsal before performing at the Newport Folk Festival, the following four recordings find Rae reflecting on the music of her childhood, the wisdom of a young Kathy Heideman, and the aching blues of Karen Dalton.

Erin Rae writes and performs folk music. Folk music highlighted by supremely elegant singing and rich lyrical imagery. Her songs are not the immediate sort; rather they slowly envelop the listener like a dense mountain fog on a humid Tennessee morning. Her work is nothing if not sturdy; classic stories and melodies that will be around long after the big machine has washed away, when we’re all back to just playing music for one another.
