Few bands/artists shaped the way I look at music more than Fugazi did at 16 in 1991 - continuing until today. Visceral, intense, unforgiving, original -- all the while acting independent from the mainstream. While the band came under attack from a portion of their audience as their sound slowed and mellowed, they seemed to stay right in step with my expanding tastes. Or vice versa. I've now had two weeks to soak up the pre-release of Rocinate (1/06 release date). It's electronica-tinged-Oklahoman-modern-folk jams should prove worth the wait. My knowledge of this group was cursory at best prior to this album, but I'm now full on board.
