Longtime Marah fan - and AD contributor - J. neas, looks at the Philadelphia based outfit's latest album (released last month on Yep Roc) and deems it the bands best work in years.

Colin Meloy :: Sings Morrissey/Collins/Sam Cooke

While I've never been accused of being an avid Decemberists fan, I am a Smiths/Morrissey pundit, and think The Decemberists principle songwriter Colin Meloy released a genuinely great EP of Mozzer covers - back in 2005 - while doing a solo acoustic tour. Both his style and vocal approach were perfect for the, for the most part . . .

J.J. Cale :: Rewind: The Unreleased Recordings

Last October J.J. Cale fans saw their hero's vaults unlocked with the release of Rewind: The Unreleased Recordings, which collects 14 previously unavailable tracks. Long John Baldry :: Flying (It Ain’t Easy, 1971)

I was originally turned on to the late British bluesman, Long John Baldry, via his 1971 LP, It Ain't Easy. Initially, it was Baldry's take on The Faces "Flying" that stopped me in my tracks . . .

Neil Young Archives Say No To CD Release

Earlier today Billboard announced that Neil Young's latest plan, per his much delayed Archives project, is to release the set in a multi-media format, exclusively on Blu-Ray and DVD. Yup, you heard him: no compact discs. Share you thoughts on this news in the comments.   I imagine a number of us will be ripping the audio content, and uploading it to our iPods and/or creating our own CDrs.

Cowboy Junkies :: The Trinity Session Revisited

Other than being an interesting project in its own right, the Cowboy Junkies Trinity Session Revisited has (personally) sparked an entirely renewed interest in the band's original recording, 1987's The Trinity Session

Chris & Rich Robinson :: Brothers of A Feather

If you've followed AD over the past few years, you're aware I am somewhat of a Black Crowes freak. Granted, I grew up in Georgia, which means I may very well be predisposed to the condition. Nevertheless, the recent news of the band gearing up to release, Warpaint, their first . . .
